stations/ One CSV per selected SNOTEL station inside the Upper Colorado River Basin, USGS WBD HUC2 14. File naming: STATIONID_STATE_SNTL_daily.csv SNTL is the USDA NRCS network code for SNOTEL, Snow Telemetry. Each station CSV contains: date Calendar date of the observation. stationTriplet NRCS station identifier in the form STATIONID:STATE:SNTL. WTEQ Snow Water Equivalent in inches. WTEQ_mm Snow Water Equivalent converted to millimeters of water equivalent. SNWD Snow depth in inches. SNWD_mm Snow depth converted to millimeters. PREC Water-year accumulated precipitation in inches. PREC_mm Water-year accumulated precipitation converted to millimeters. PRCP Daily precipitation in inches. PRCP_mm Daily precipitation converted to millimeters. PREC_diff_daily_in Estimated daily precipitation in inches, calculated from the day-to-day increase in the water-year accumulated PREC value. Some stations report accumulated precip over the water year. PREC_diff_daily_mm PRCP_diff_daily in millimeters. TOBS Observed air temperature in degrees Fahrenheit. TOBS_C Observed air temperature converted to degrees Celsius. TMAX Daily maximum air temperature in degrees Fahrenheit. TMAX_C Daily maximum air temperature converted to degrees Celsius. TMIN Daily minimum air temperature in degrees Fahrenheit. TMIN_C Daily minimum air temperature converted to degrees Celsius. TAVG Daily average air temperature in degrees Fahrenheit. TAVG_C Daily average air temperature converted to degrees Celsius. SWE_change_mm Day-to-day change in Snow Water Equivalent, in millimeters. Positive values indicate net SWE gain and negative values indicate net SWE loss. SWE_net_loss_mm Amount by which SWE decreased from the previous day, reported as a positive value in millimeters. It represents net snowpack water loss, not a direct measurement of snowmelt. *_qcFlag NRCS quality-control flag for the corresponding variable, when returned. *_qaFlag NRCS quality-assurance flag for the corresponding variable, when returned. station_name Station name. latitude Station latitude in decimal degrees. longitude Station longitude in decimal degrees. elevation_ft Station elevation in feet. HUC2 Hydrologic Unit Code region number. For these files it is 14. WBD_region USGS Watershed Boundary Dataset region name for HUC2 14, Upper Colorado. snotel_UCRB_HUC2_14_daily_all_stations.csv Main combined daily SNOTEL dataset. It contains all selected SNOTEL stations inside HUC2 14 and all variables returned or derived for those stations. This file is in long format. Stations are stacked vertically. Each row represents one station on one date. The stationTriplet column identifies the station, while variables such as WTEQ_mm, SNWD_mm, PRCP_mm, and TAVG_C are columns. Not every station necessarily has every variable. If a variable is unavailable for a station or date, the value is blank/NaN. The file uses the union of all columns found across the selected station files. The observational variables are WTEQ, SNWD, PREC, PRCP, TOBS, TMAX, TMIN, and TAVG. WTEQ, SNWD, PREC, and PRCP are in inches. TOBS, TMAX, TMIN, and TAVG are in degrees Fahrenheit. Converted and derived columns are then added, including millimeters, degrees Celsius, daily precipitation derived from PREC, SWE change, quality flags, and station information. snotel_UCRB_HUC2_14_daily_wide.csv Combined daily SNOTEL dataset in wide format. Each date is one row. Each station-variable combination has its own column, for example WTEQ_mm__123:CO:SNTL or TAVG_C__456:UT:SNTL. This file contains same daily observations as the long-format combined file, but rearranged for matrix-style analysis, plotting multiple station series, correlations, or similar calculations. snotel_UCRB_HUC2_14_station_metadata.csv Metadata for the SNOTEL stations selected inside the HUC2 14 Upper Colorado Region. It includes stationTriplet, station name, latitude and longitude in decimal degrees, elevation in feet, period-of-record fields such as beginDate and endDate by NRCS, and other descriptive station fields returned by the AWDB station query. This file is used to identify where each station is, its elevation, and which daily time series belongs to which station. snotel_all_station_metadata.csv Metadata for all SNOTEL stations returned nationally before applying the HUC2 14 spatial filter. snotel_UCRB_HUC2_14_coverage_qc.csv Station-by-station summary of record coverage and basic quality-control statistics. It includes first and last dates available, number of rows, number of valid observations for key variables, and simple minimum and maximum values. This file can be used to identify stations with adequate record length or obvious coverage problems. download_log_UCRB_HUC2_14.csv Download status log for each selected UCRB SNOTEL station. It records whether a station was downloaded successfully, already existed, returned no data, or produced an error. USGS_WBD_HUC2_14_Upper_Colorado.geojson USGS Watershed Boundary Dataset polygon for the Upper Colorado Region, HUC2 14. This polygon is the spatial mask used to decide which SNOTEL stations are included in the UCRB dataset.
